Few days ago, somehow I jumped into the video of zero waste girl. And then I miss the time when I was have the vision like that too, well maybe not that extreme.
I used to have the "Green vision" although what I did just reduce and reuse ( not recycle yet). When in college I am excited to Greenpeace. I cut plastic bag as much as I can. The foldable shopping bag is always in my backpack or bag, the big one and the small one. When I work and I don't bring lunch from home, I just bring my empty lunchbox to avoid food packaging. I prefer walk to mini-market. Etc. I feel like it is against the main stream and I am proud, because it's cool.
But now, I am far from that, I used plastic bag for almost all of my groceries, I take all the food packaging, my baby use disposable diaper, and I recently quit from Greenpeace (Sorry :p). I feel like what important now is practicality and affordable.I hope some day I can go back to that life style again because it's so beneficial not only for ourselves but also for the earth. Just from reduce trash we can reuse things, make things on our own, less shopping, eating healthier, discipline, and many more.
And oh, when I was graduated and still stay at home I once thought for join organization to take care of trash, but then I just don't do that because my lack on information and courage. Because it's horrible just to imagine how much trash that our country made. Looks like we don't have ay system to recycle, we just collect and put the garbage until it became mountain, literally mountain. I hope some people just taking care of that. Hopefully I can do something for that too. Aamiin..
